Dear Colleagues,

We are glad to welcome you here at the MOSCOW Education Online 2008 International Conference site. 

The Conference will be held in Moscow, at the President Hotel premises, from 28 September to 1 October 2008.

The Conference themes include a broad spectrum of issues which encompasses development of innovative technologies and managerial solutions to be used in distant learning and in face-to-face mode as well as the analysis of trends in open, blended, distance, corporate and lifelong learning and continuous education; improvement of the legal base that supports the education system; international cooperation in the e-learning development in the world where we can observe the globalization processes and internationalization in the field of education and other topical and widely discussed issues related to the field of education.  

We are planning to organize a plenary session and about 40 parallel sessions, panel discussions, and working groups where participants will have an opportunity to discuss the above issues.  

The Conference participants will have an opportunity to exchange their views on the above topics and form recommendations to be handed over to various federal education supervision bodies and some renowned international organizations. 

We expect to welcome some renowned Russian experts and more than 100 international experts. The European Foundation for Quality in eLearning (EFQUEL) management representatives and some of the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities members are among those who are expected to come. 
 
 
Traditionally, an Exhibition is organized that runs in parallel with the Conference work.  The companies that are the leaders in the IT field, the key universities and other educational institutions have an opportunity to present their innovative software and teaching and learning technology products to their colleagues. We have learned from experience gained during the last year’s Conference that the accompanying Exhibition is of great interest to all the Conference participants. During the breaks between the sessions it turns into a sort of a large “salon”      where the industry innovations are presented, e-learning news are discussed, new business contacts are established and agreements are discussed.
